Court Services for Business Clients

Some commercial law firms offer no court service. In the larger firms, specialist commercial lawyers have no practical experience of litigation and, correspondingly, their litigation colleagues are asked to deal with situations with limited knowledge of “the bigger picture”, including the commercial factors which may outweigh the purely legal issues. If our commercial clients get into a dispute, we also handle litigation and dispute resolution. In recent years we have achieved notable results for commercial clients, including:

  • a small two-man partnership recovering substantial damages from one of the UK’s biggest plc's for breach of contract

  • a company director recovering damages from his former co-director, after two failed actions by his previous city solicitors

  • a company obtaining an injunction in England against a former director who had attempted to appropriate for himself a major contract with a multi-national

  • a company recovering damages from its former owners for a breach of the Sale & Purchase Contract

  • successful pursuit of interdict and damages against former employees for illegal use of intellectual property

Our clients constantly seek our assistance in recovering bad debts, or to defend claims brought against them, usually under contract.
